Rooted in Lincoln County, Kentucky, Full Circle Farms raises registered Gelbvieh beef cattle across 60 acres in Waynesburg. We’re committed to caring for our animals, preserving our agricultural heritage, and sharing everyday life on the farm.

The Gelbvieh cattle at Full Circle Farms are a vital part of our story and our stewardship of the land. Known for their gentle temperament, strong maternal traits, and high-quality beef, Gelbvieh are a heritage breed that thrives in our pasture-based system. These cattle are raised with care and respect—from rotational grazing that keeps them healthy to hands-on attention from our family each day. What makes them truly special is not just their genetics, but the role they play in teaching responsibility, patience, and pride—especially to the next generation of farmers here at the farm.

The Frankenstein air compressor build rolls on. In Part 2, Ben runs the metal lathe to machine the custom parts this homemade compressor needs to run. With the salvaged pieces gathered up in Part 1, now comes the real work — making mismatched, hand-me-down parts actually fit together. Ben heads to the metal lathe to turn, shape, and fabricate the custom bits you simply can't buy off a shelf for a one-of-a-kind machine like this. This is the heart of the Frankenstein Compressor: old steel getting cut, cleaned up, and machined into something purpose-built. The Frankenstien compressor Pt 2
A pile of old, forgotten parts is about to become a working air compressor. In Part 1, Ben hunts the scrap and starts the Frankenstein Compressor build. A few years back, Ben got it in his head that he could build an air compressor out of stuff most folks would've hauled off to the scrap pile. No kit, no instructions — just an old motor, some salvaged steel, a metal lathe, and a whole lot of "we'll figure it out." This is where it all begins. In Part 1, you'll watch Ben dig through the forgotten odds and ends, size up what's worth saving, and start turning rough, rusty parts into something that just might run. The Frankenstein Compressor Pt 1
Welcome back to our monthly Museum & Shop series here at Full Circle Farms Waynesburg in Kentucky! This is Series 7 of 7 — the finale — in our W.F. & John Barnes Velocipede Lathe Restoration series. In this video, Ben shows off the fully restored W.F. & John Barnes #4-1/2 velocipede lathe — a beautiful piece of late 1800s American machine tool history brought back to working condition right here on the farm. From reassembling the drive chain, to re-cutting back gear teeth, remaking spindle bearings, machining a new flywheel stop collar, fitting a new saddle gib block, and fly cutting the rack gear — every step has led to this moment. Barnes Lathe Restoration (Series 7/7) | The Finished Lathe | Full Circle Farms Waynesburg
Welcome back to our monthly Museum & Shop series here at Full Circle Farms Waynesburg in Kentucky! This is Series 6 of 7 in our W.F. & John Barnes Velocipede Lathe Restoration series. In this short video, Ben re-cuts some damaged teeth on the carriage rack gear of his W.F. & John Barnes lathe using a fly cutter — a precision repair to bring this beautiful piece of late 1800s American machine tool history back to working condition. The rack gear is what allows the carriage to travel smoothly along the bed of the lathe — when the teeth are damaged or worn, the carriage won't move accurately. Fly cutting is a hands-on technique that uses a single-point cutting tool to carefully reshape each damaged tooth. Watch as Ben repairs the rack gear in the Museum Support Shop right here on the farm. Welcome back to our monthly Museum & Shop series here at Full Circle Farms Waynesburg in Kentucky! This is Series 5 of 7 in our W.F. & John Barnes Velocipede Lathe Restoration series. In this video, Ben makes a new gib block for the saddle on his W.F. & John Barnes lathe — a precision-fit replacement part that keeps the saddle moving smoothly and accurately along the bed of the lathe. A gib is a thin, tapered piece that takes up wear between sliding parts on a lathe — without a properly fitted gib, the saddle would have play in it, and that means inaccurate work. Making a new one from scratch is a careful, hands-on job that requires fitting it to the specific machine. Watch as Ben machines and fits a new saddle gib block in the Museum Support Shop right here on the farm.
