With snow on the ground and winter in full swing, today’s video gives you an inside look at how we’re feeding our cattle during these cold months.
We’ll share updates on our current feeding setup and the long process we’ve been navigating with the State Cost Share Program under the USDA and NRCS. After submitting our application in September 2025, the government shutdown delayed everything for more than 40 days. Now, we’re waiting until March or April to find out if we’ve been approved for an official feed pad.
In the meantime, we’re making the most of our temporary feeding area—and it’s working surprisingly well! Our feeders and troughs, purchased from a local farm supply store, have held up great and kept our daily routine efficient. This setup has helped us keep our livestock healthy and continue improving operations while we wait for the NRCS program decision.
